Soquel Parent Education Nursery School (Soquel PENS) is a parent participation preschool serving families in the Santa Cruz County foothills. Our non-profit parent cooperative has been an integral part of this community since 1949, offering quality education to both child and parent.

At Soquel PENS, children learn about themselves and the world around them through play. By participating in a stimulating learning environment with other children their own age, students develop skills and build confidence — socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically.
Parents actively involved in their child's learning are better able to understand and meet their child's needs. They observe credentialed teachers and practice new skills in a supportive environment. Monthly evening meetings offer in-depth parent education from teachers and guest speakers.

Choose the schedule that fits your family. Both programs run September through June, following the Santa Cruz school calendar.
Mon · Wed · Fri
Our most popular option, giving children rhythm and consistency while forming deep friendships across the full week. Up to 15–16 children plus siblings.
Ages 2½–5 · 9:00 AM – 11:30 PM
Tue · Thu
A wonderful introduction to co-op preschool. Ideal for younger children and families new to the cooperative model. Up to 14–16 children plus siblings.
Ages 2½–5 · 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
The cooperative model keeps our tuition accessible. Scholarships are available for families who need support — please ask us.

Submit a $100 non-refundable enrollment fee via PayPal, cash, or check (made out to Soquel PENS, child's name in memo).
Pick up your registration packet at school. Include immunization records, a TB test result (within 4 years), and all completed forms.
